Why I Practice: Jessica Haygood

When I was growing up, my mom worked at a district attorney’s office, and I would occasionally go to work with her. In college, I had the opportunity to watch one of the assistant district attorneys try a case. Seeing it firsthand how she advocated for the victim and the meaningful impact she had on the victim’s life made a lasting impression on me. That experience inspired me to pursue a career where I could use my skills to help others through significant challenges and important life decisions. 

That experience ultimately inspired me to attend Mercer University School of Law, where I developed the skills and a foundation necessary to turn that inspiration into a career. At Vaughn Sundeen, P.C., I have had the opportunity to represent clients in a variety of legal matters, including civil litigation, real estate, probate, local government, and more. Whether I am sitting at the closing table with first time home buyers on one of the happiest days of their lives or helping a family navigate the probate of a loved one’s estate during one of life’s most difficult seasons, I try to remember what inspired me to go to law school in the first place. The legal issues we handle are deeply personal to our clients and are significant moments in our clients’ lives. Having the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives our clients and the community where I grew up is the most rewarding part of being an attorney.
