Ben Vaughn is a respected Monroe County native whose legal career is defined by sound judgment, steady leadership, and an unwavering commitment to the communities he serves. Known for his integrity and depth of experience, Ben has become the trusted legal advisor for clients navigating complex real estate matters and for local governments across Georgia.

After graduating from Stratford Academy in 2004, Ben earned a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Auburn University in 2008. He went on to graduate cum laude from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 2012 and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia that same year.

Early in his career, Ben demonstrated exceptional legal acumen, securing a unanimous victory before the Georgia Supreme Court in Newton Timber Co., L.L.L.P. v. Monroe County Board of Tax Assessors in 2013, less than a year after joining the Bar. Since then, he has represented clients in both state and federal courts, guiding matters from initial filings through trial and appeal with consistent success.

Ben’s practice focuses on commercial and residential real estate law, with a particular emphasis on land use, planning, and development. He is widely regarded as the leading real estate attorney in Monroe County and a go-to resource for local government law throughout Georgia. His work includes negotiating and structuring complex real estate transactions, advising on zoning and land-use issues, managing public and governmental processes, and shepherding development projects from concept to entitlement, closing, and completion.

In addition to his real estate and land-use practice, Ben advises businesses on a wide range of legal matters, including entity formation, contract drafting and negotiation, and long-term strategic planning. He also assists individuals and families with estate planning and administration, providing thoughtful guidance rooted in trust and clarity.
Ben serves as the Wilkinson County Attorney, Monroe County Attorney and as legal counsel to the Monroe County Board of Education - roles that reflect the confidence placed in him by public leaders and the broader community. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Dudley, continuing a five-generation family legacy of community banking and local investment.

A graduate of GeorgiaForward’s Young Gamechangers program and the Georgia Academy for Economic Development, Ben has long been committed to civic leadership. He is a past president of both the Forsyth–Monroe County Rotary Club and the Towaliga Bar Association.
Ben and his wife, Kris, live in Monroe County with their two daughters. Together, they are deeply invested in Middle Georgia through their church, volunteer service, and enduring family traditions - values that continue to shape both Ben’s professional life and his approach to the practice of law.
